ROCKINGHAM — Richard Eldon “Dick” Lowry, 83, of Rockingham, passed away Friday, Oct. 11, 2019 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst.
Dick was born May 4, 1936 in Springfield, Ohio, a son of the late Elden and Margaret Jack Lowry. He was a very active member of All Saints Episcopal Church in Hamlet. He had been a sales representative in the trucking industry and had raised, shown and sold many show horses in his lifetime. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Don and Bill Lowry.
Surviving are his wife and the love of his life, Betty Foster “BJ” Lowry; children, Kimberley A. McGlothen (Dave) and Greg Lowry; three grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and sisters, Frances McHenry and Brigit Boyce.
The Service of Celebration and Thanksgiving for Dick’s life will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 19 at All Saints Episcopal Church in Hamlet with Father Tim Martin, celebrant.
The family will greet friends in the Parrish Hall following the service.
