HOFFMAN — Mrs. Elizabeth “Dash” McMillan, 73 of Hoffman, was born on March 27, 1946 to the late Raymond and Lena McRae in Scotland County. She quietly departed this earthly life on Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2019 at Kingswood Nursing Facility in Aberdeen.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Willie McRae.
Dash attended Richmond County Schools and graduated from Mineral Springs School. At an early age, she accepted Christ as her personal savior at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church in Hoffman, where she was a faithful member until her health declined.
She worked at Stanley Furniture in West End for 25 years. She also worked at Moore County Schools and retired from there. She was united in holy matrimony to Sylvester McMillan, who preceded her in death. To this union three children were born.
Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her children, Sylvia Crawford (Lester), Vanessa McIver (Walter) of Hoffman, and Montina Martina (Eugene ) of Waldorf, Marlyand; seven grandchildren, Amya, Lester Jr., Nicholas, Amari, Joseph, Josiah and Joshua; two sisters; Lena Mae Brown (Colbert) of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and Mable Townsend (Henry) of Norman; three brothers, Raymond McRae (Pamela) and James McRae (Essie) of Hoffman, and Charles McRae (Madell) of Newark, New Jersey, one aunt, Edna Purvis of Laurel Hill; seven sisters-in-law, three brothers-in-law, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 12, 2019 at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church in Hoffman. Public viewing and visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
