HAMLET — Ernest “Ernie” Lee Daughtrey, 65, of Beeler Avenue, Hamlet, passed away, Sunday, March 8, 2020 at Scotland Memorial Hospital, Laurinburg.
He was born Sept. 25, 1954 in Pender County, son of Odell Daughtrey and Margaret Lewis Daughtrey.
He was a member of Touch of Grace Church.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, March 14 at Touch of Grace from 1-2:30 p.m. and a memorial service to start at 2:30 p.m.
He was preceded in death by grandson, Noah Daughtrey; sister, Joyce Miller; brothers, Durwood Daughtrey and Everette Earl Daughtrey; and a special stepdaughter, Christy Maulden.
He is survived by his wife, Kay Hare Daughtrey of the home; daughter, Tara D. McDuffie (Lee) of Rockingham; son, Lee Daughtrey of Laurel Hill; brother, Albert Daughtrey (Nena) of Castle Hayne; sisters, Barbara Smith of Delco, Frankie Saunders (Lewis) of Burgaw, and Janice Daughtrey of Burgaw; aunt, Tressie Moore of Currie; and three grandchildren, Nikolas Daughtrey, Nathan Hoffman and Danica McDuffie.
Harrington Funeral Home & Crematory is serving the Daughtrey family.
