Eunice Capel

CANDOR — Eunice Simmons Capel, 70, of Candor, transitioned into her new life on Monday, Aug. 3, 2020.

She was born to Horace and Elizabeth McNeil Simmons on Dec. 22, 1949.

Both parents preceded her in death. Also preceding Eunice in death was brother, Charles, and sister, Della.

Eunice was a native of Moore County. She was christened at an early age and attended Providence Presbyterian Church, which she joined later. She was Sunday school secretary, teacher, elder and session clerk at Providence. She enjoyed hunting, fishing, reading, gardening and spending time with her grandchildren.

Eunice was married to Elmer Capel Jr.

In addition to Elmer, she leaves to cherish her memories: two sons, Derrick Jerome (Aurora) of Mansfield, Texas and Daryl Andre of Candor; four grandchildren, Rosa Elena, Xavier, Adrian, and DeAndre; sisters, Claudine Allen (Anthony) of Fayetteville, Felecia Christian (Walter) of Fayetteville; brothers, Horace Simmons Jr. (Cynthia) of Denver, Colorado, Milton Simmons of Eagle Springs; Lazarus Simmons of Fayetteville; Joseph Simmons (Caherine) of Durham; Mack Simmons of Biscoe; Raymond Simmons of Stem; and Timothy Simmons of Jackson Springs. Eunice has many nieces, nephews, and cousins who she was very proud of.
