Evelyn S. McCormick

ROCKINGHAM — Evelyn S. McCormick, 75, of Rockingham went to her heavenly home on Nov. 10, 2021.

She was born in Richmond County, a daughter of the late Junior Bo and Vera Leviner Stevens.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Talbert C. McCormick; and a son, James Parks.

Mrs. McCormick lived a fulfilling life as wife, daughter, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. She enjoyed being outside, cooking, sewing, cleaning and contributing to the needs of others. She never met a stranger and strived to see the best in everyone. Her greatest passion was the people she loved and cherished. She never missed an opportunity to express the profound love that she had for God. Her legacy will live on through the hearts and minds of everyone she interacted with. She was an extraordinary lady and will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday, Nov. 14, 2021 at 3 p.m. at Hamlet Pentecostal Holiness Church with her son, Al McCormick, officiating. The burial will follow at Northam Cemetery Extension.

Surviving are her children, Al McCormick and wife Barbara of Hamlet, Jeff McCormick of Rockingham, Patsy Parks of Rockingham, Terry Burge and wife Sheronne of Pinebluff and Daryl Albright of Hamlet; 18 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; sisters, Vivian Farrell of Peoria, Illinois, Lisa Jordan of Greenville, South Carolina, Faye Stevens of Cheraw, South Carolina, and Cookie Autry of Rockingham; a brother, Richard C. Stevens of Rockingham; and her companion, a toy poodle, Daisy. 

The family will receive friends Sunday from 2-3 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
