HAMLET — Frances “Chris” Hall McIver, 89, of Hamlet passed away Friday, Jan. 21, 2022 at Richmond Co. Hospice Haven.
She was born Feb. 12, 1932 in Richmond County, a daughter of the late Clyde and Sallie Purvis Hall.
Mrs. McIver was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Rockingham where she sang in the choir for many years and member of the Hamlet Lions Club. She retired as a school teacher in the Business Department. She enjoyed spending time cooking for her family, shopping, and trips to the Florida Keys.
Her life was well-lived to the fullest, always guiding and protecting with the kindest heart of her family — especially those grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Life is busy and changing fast from day to day, but the love and memory of you, mom, shall never pass away.
She was preceded in death by her husband John William McIver; a daughter, Patti Ann McIver; and a son, Craig Allan McIver.
The family will have a private family graveside service.
Surviving, sons, Steve McIver and wife Debra of Hamlet, Mike McIver and wife Lori and Tim McIver both of Jacksonville, Florida; a daughter, Kathy Brand of Hamlet; two, brothers, Gene Hall of Cordova and Doc Hall of Rockingham; grandchildren, Craig Brand and wife Mary, Reid McIver and wife Jennifer, Tracy McIver and wife Andrea, Dr. Sarah McIver Yadon and husband Andrew, Shamus McIver and Katie McIver; great-grandchildren, John Brand, Cressie Yadon, Julie Yadon, Emily McIver, Kainen McIver and Wallace McIver.
Memorials may be made to Richmond Co. Hospice, 1119 U.S. Hwy. 1 N, Rockingham, NC 28379.
