ROCKINGHAM — Glenda G. Alfonso, 64, of Rockingham passed away Sunday, Nov. 15, 2020 at Richmond Co. Hospice Haven.
She was born Oct. 17, 1956 in Richmond County, a daughter of Barbara Bennett Gardner and the late William Gardner.
She worked for the Richmond County school system for 28 years. She loved spending time with her grandkids.
A graveside service will be Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2020 at 11 a.m. at Bear Branch cemetery with the Rev. Jack Lee officiating. Due to COVID-19 please wear a face mask and continue social distancing.
She leaves behind a husband of 40 years, Richard Alfonso; a daughter, Sonja Buchanan and her husband Stephen; a son, Christopher Alfonso and his wife Sara; four grandkids whom she loved dearly, Paige and J.R. and his wife Dallas Rushing, Camden and Cutler Alfonso; a great-granddaughter, Allie Rose; a godson, Gene Gardner; her mother, Barbara Gardner; six siblings; many nieces and nephews; and her beloved dog, Duke.
