HAMLET — Mrs. Gloria “Jeanette” Davis Priest, 84, of Hamlet, passed away, Thursday, May 7, 2020, at Hospice Haven.
She was born Nov. 7, 1935 in Scotland County, daughter of Roechester Davis and Ada Turner Davis.
Mrs. Priest was a homemaker and a member of Emmanuel Holiness Church for over 45 yrs. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend. A sweet, soft-spoken woman who enjoyed her garden, flowers and making crafts.
A private graveside service, due to COVID-19 restrictions, will be held at Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery.
She was preceded in death by her dad, Roechester Davis; mother, Ada Turner Norton; stepdad, Charlie Ervin Norton; son, John Priest; brother, Willie Nelson Davis; and sisters, Thelma Roberts and Louise Smith.
Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Robert “Bob” Priest; daughters, Belinda Norton Bowers (Mickey) of Hamlet, Robin Brindle (Carl) of Madisonville, Tennessee, Vickie Lynn Banditelli (Louis) of Lenoir and Patti Priest of Rockingham; son, Joseph Allen Priest of Hamlet; 13 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
