Haywood Cabbott Carpenter, 70, of Rockingham, passed away Thursday, November 1, 2018 at Hospice Haven in Rockingham.
Mr. Carpenter was born January 19, 1948 in Richmond County, a son of the late Alfred P. and Elsie Grant Carpenter. He had worked as an auto mechanic. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Toni Annette Norton Carpenter, a brother, Wilbert Carpenter and a sister Verline.
Surviving are his children, Dave Carpenter (Angel), Stacy Lyon (Richard), and Kristopher Carpenter, all of Rockingham; grandchildren, Brandi Blake and Alan Chavis; great grandchildren, Paisley, Emberly and Myah Blake as well as brothers, Alfred Carpenter and Johnny Carpenter, both of Hamlet and James Carpenter and David Carpenter, both of Rockingham.
Funeral services will be at 2 pm Sunday at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham with Rev. Michael Carpenter officiating. Interment will follow in Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery in Wallace, SC.
The family will see friends from 6 – 8 pm Saturday at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham and at other times at the home.
