OCEAN ISLE BEACH — Hubert Perry Peele, 86, of Ocean Isle Beach, formerly of Hamlet, passed away Sunday, Jan. 17, 2021 at his daughter’s house in Hamlet.
He was born June 19, 1934 in Scotland County, a son of the late Sammy and Lena Wallace Peele.
Mr. Peele served in the U.S. Navy and was a retired diesel mechanic.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Robinson Peele.
A graveside service will be Saturday, Jan. 30, 2021 at 1 p.m. at the Church of God of Prophecy Cemetery in Hamlet with the Rev. Dwight Reeves officiating. Due COVID-19, please make sure to wear a mask and continue social distancing.
Surviving, a daughter, Pamela Williams of Hamlet; two sons, James Peele and Sammie Peele and wife Teri, both of Hamlet; stepdaughter, Jennifer Williams of Cordova; a sister, Louise Morton of Jacksonville; grandchildren, Joshua Zamarripa of Hamlet, Nina Vo of Hamlet, Brandon Van Buren of Hamlet, Zack Peele of Charlotte and Jacob Williams of Cordova; nine great-grandchildren.
