Once Fruit of the Loom closed, Mr. Perkins attended Sandhills Community College where he obtained an Associate Degree in Automotive Technology. He then used his education and great love of cars to begin his career at Dieffenbach GM Superstore where he retired over 20 years later.  He continued to offer his expertise to help others with car issues up until two days before he left this world.

He was an avid hunter all of his life. Some of the best times of his life were hunting with his sons and friends.
