ROCKINGHAM — Ivery Alene King Currie, 98, of Rockingham, completed her earthly journey on Tuesday, June 2, 2020.
Mrs. Currie was born June 10, 1921 in Surry County, one of 11 children of Dave and Della Young King.
She was a longtime member of Rourk Presbyterian Church. She was a farmers wife and homemaker, and had been employed at the Brown Derby Restaurant.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Eddie Currie, and siblings, Curtis King, Charlie King, Robert King, Verbdel Hudson, Clatis Thomas, Anna Keeter and Virginia Smith.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Tommy Currie (Beulah), Frances Nicholson, Henry Currie (Melinda), Mary Byrd (Harris), Ray Currie (Debbie) and Kathy Allen (Roger); 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Stuart King, J.D. King; sister, Ida Tunstall; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held privately at Rourk Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
