James Neel Peacock

HAMLET — Mr. James Neel Peacock, 41, of Hamlet, passed away Thursday, Dec. 16, 2021 at his residence.

He was born in Blackshear, Georgia, Oct. 26, 1980, son of Tommy and Debbie Peacock.

Neel was a sergeant with the United States Marine Corps, serving his country for eight years. He was the acting director for Area of Richmond Transit, serving Richmond County residents. He was a member of Freedom Baptist Church and an ordained deacon.

Dedication was an attribute he possessed; to his family, his church, his friends and to Richmond Raider football, which he enjoyed and also served as an assistant coach. He volunteered with the Rockingham Fire Department as well. Neel genuinely cared for people and left a lasting impact with many. His laughter was contagious and he spent plenty of time enjoying family and friends. His children loved their dad and he loved them.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Theo E. Peacock Sr. and Lois Peacock, and Robert Kidder Sr.

He is survived by his wife, Corinne Dinsfriend Peacock, of the home; his children, Zoe and Garrett Peacock, of the home and Blake Everett, of Las Vegas; parents, Tommy and Debbie Peacock, of Hamlet; sisters, Mariana Crow, of Hamlet and Julie Peacock-Williamson (Mark), of Portland, Oregon; grandmother, Donna Kidder, of Clermont, Florida; and in-laws, Neil and Maryann Dinsfriend, of Hamlet.
