Jean Frazier Hutchinson

Columbia—Jean Frazier Hutchinson, 85, of Columbia, died Sunday June 18, 2018, at Agape Hospice House.

She was married to Joseph E. Hutchinson for over 65 years.

They are the parents of Janice Hutchinson Poda of Columbia, Timothy J. Hutchinson (Fae) of Hilton Head Island and the late Steve (Hutch) Hutchinson (Avis) of Pawleys Island.

She is survived by six grandchildren: Elizabeth P. King (Brian) of Columbia; Meghan Bell (Andrew) of Spartanburg; Rachel Hutchinson of Pawleys Island; and Joseph, Mark, and Tessa Hutchinson of Hilton Head; five great-grandchildren: Alex and Julia King and Gretchen, Micah, and Issac Bell.  

Born September 7, 1932, in Ellerbe, NC, she was a daughter of the late Eugene Frazier and Melinda Anne McLean Frazier. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Frances Covington. 

A member of Northeast Presbyterian Church and the Good News Sunday School Class, Jean retired from the state of South Carolina where she worked as a secretary. In her retirement, Jean and Joe lived in the NC mountains and on the SC coast before returning to Columbia in 2013. 

Funeral service will be at 1:30 pm, Friday  at McLean Presbyterian Church with Rev. Eric Walters officiating. There will be a private family interment.
