Jeremy Blake Ward

HAMLET — Jeremy Blake Ward, 19, of Hamlet, passed away Saturday, Aug. 21, 2021 in Scotland County as the result of an automobile accident.

Jeremy was born in Rockingham, Jan. 12, 2002, son of Charles Wayne Dinius and Airele Ward.

He was a member of Crossroads Ministries. He loved all sports and especially football, where he was a member of the Richmond Senior High Football Team prior to graduating with the Class of 2020.

Jeremy had the best personality, with a smile that would light up the room and a contagious laugh. He was a strong-willed young man, an amazing friend, and the most devoted brother to his siblings, stopping anything he had going on to help them if needed.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Michael Dinius; maternal grandmother, Rose Ward; and aunt, Wanda Ladd.

He is survived by his mother, Airele Ward, of the home; his father, Charles “Chuck” Dinius of Laurinburg; brothers, Keylyn Hoffman of Hamlet, Christian Moody of Elizabethtown, Noah Lewis and Jaden Lewis of Laurinburg; sisters, Autumn Hoffman of Hamlet, Matai Dinius, Brynleigh Lewis and Brookleigh Lewis, all of Laurinburg; paternal grandmother, Deborah Dinius of Whispering Pines; maternal grandfather, Guaran Ward of Hamlet; uncles and aunts, Allen Ladd (Laura) of “Little” Washington, Ralph Ladd of Hamlet, Rickie Ladd of Rockingham, Vickie Cooker of Hamlet, Angineek Gillenwater (George) of Rockingham, and Kim Dinius of Southern Pines; and two important people in his life, Gavin Terry and Aaron Ladd.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, Aug. 28, 2021 from 7-9 p.m. at Harrington Funeral Home.

At other times, receiving friends and family at home, 410 Entwistle St., Hamlet.

The funeral will be Sunday, Aug. 29, 2021 at Mount Carmel Free Will Baptist Church at 2 p.m. Thad Pearson II will be officiating.

Due to the rise in COVID-19 cases,  please wear a face covering and social distance.

Burial will follow at Richmond Memorial Park, Rockingham
