ROCKINGHAM — Jerry Allen “Jay” Parker, 54, of Rockingham, passed away Friday, Feb. 12, 2021 at FirstHealth Richmond Memorial Hospital.
He was born Sept. 23, 1966 in Richmond County, a son of the late Edward M. Parker and Ruby Prevatte.
Jay was a member of Roberdel Baptist Church. He worked several years as an radio personality at WLWL Big Wave Radio 770 AM and WAYN 900 AM. He volunteered at FirstHealth Richmond Memorial Hospital. He was loved by many and he was known locally for his radio voice and his big heart.
A memorial service will be Monday, Feb. 22, 2021 at 2 p.m. at Roberdel Baptist Church with the Rev. Billy Dennis officiating.
Surviving, a sister, Lisa Saunders of North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; and a brother, Roy Wayne Parker of North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
