ROCKINGHAM — Jessie James Smith, 46, of Rockingham, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2020 at First Health Moore Regional Hospital, Pinehurst.
He was born in Greensboro Jan. 12, 1974, son of James Arthur Smith and Judy Thorpe Smith.
Jessie worked in textiles and also had been a truck driver. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and anything to do with outdoors. He loved spending time with his family, friends and his loyal companion, Gunner.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his brother, Gene Smith of Hamlet; sisters, Peggy Broadwater of the home, Rebecca Gibson and Adthea Collins, both of Rockingham, and April Baucom of Marston; and his loyal companion, Gunner.
The family will have a private memorial service at a later date.
Harrington Funeral Home & Crematory is serving the Smith family.
