“Jimmy” Roscoe

ROCKINGHAM — Earl James Roscoe Jr., “Jimmy”, 75, of 454 Old Cheraw Highway, Rockingham, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2019, at his residence.

He was born Jan. 9, 1944, in Richmond County, son of Earl James Roscoe Sr. and Ethel James Roscoe.

Mr. Roscoe previously worked at CSX Railroad. Before Mr. Roscoe’s illness, he was very active in youth baseball and sports. He really enjoyed working with those kids.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, Dec. 14, 2019 from 6-8 p.m. at Harrington Funeral Home.

A graveside service will be held on Sunday, Dec. 15, 2019 at 3 p.m. at Richmond Memorial Park. The Rev. Chris Thornton will be officiating.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia Roscoe of the home; daughters, Lisa Russell of Pinebluff, Kay Blue of Hamlet and Cindy Lassiter of Hamlet; sons, Chris Roscoe of Rockingham, James Roscoe of Hamlet and Tim Sellers of Rockingham; brother, Leonard Roscoe of Asheville; sisters, Virginia McDuffie of Hamlet and Peggy Howdyshell of Marietta, Georgia; seven grandchildren; 12  great-grandchildren.

The family would like to thank Hospice for all their care and support they have given to Mr. Roscoe and his family. They have been truly wonderful.
