HAMLET — John Clifton Boney Jr., of Hamlet, died peacefully at his home on March 23, 2021 after a six-year battle with Parkinson’s. With the loving care of family members, John was able to remain in his home throughout his illness.

Additionally, John proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve from 1970-1976, was active in the Hamlet Jaycee organization which later morphed into the Thursday Night Men’s Club, and was famous for his annual Super Bowl parties at the Playhouse.

In addition to his parents, John was predeceased by his infant daughter, Margaret Louise Boney; and his sister, Sara Louise Boney Carroll.
