ROCKINGHAM — Jonathan “JonJon” Chavis, 36, of Rockingham, passed away Friday, Feb. 11, 2022.
He was born Jan. 25,1986 in Scotland County, a son of the late Janie Chavis. He was preceded in death by his MawMaw, Pat Downer.
Jonathan was a loving father, brother, cousin and friend. He will be greatly missed.
Surviving are his children, Jaden and Damian Chavis, Nevaen Chavis, Leland and Jacob Chavis; brothers, James Chavis of Virgina, Josh Player of Moore County; aunts, Loretta Chavis (Casey Woolard), Mary Ann Quick, Thelma Chavis; and uncle, Zachary Chavis; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral will be held at 1 p.m., on Sunday, Feb. 20, 2022 in the chapel at Nelson Funeral Home, 1021 E. Washington St., Rockingham.
Public viewing will be held on Sunday, Feb. 20, 2022, 11 a.m.-1 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
The family will receive friends and visitors at 140 Middle St., Rockingham.
