ROCKINGHAM — Julia Pearline Joye Driggers, 91, widow of the Rev. Leonard DuRant Driggers, entered into heavenly rest on Monday, Feb. 28, 2022.
She was born July 23, 1930 in Johnsonville, South Carolina, a daughter of the late George Bunyon Joye and the late Eppie Hughes Joye.
She was a member of East Rockingham Pentecostal Holiness Church. As a pastor’s wife, she and her husband served the Lord in many capacities proclaiming the Gospel. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
She is survived by a daughter, Lynn Driggers Jones (Robbie) of Chesapeake, Virginia; two granddaughters, Cynthia Hendrix (Ken) of Lavonia, Georgia and Christa Mayfield (Alex) of Boston, Massachusetts; and four great-grandchildren, Jossalynn Hendrix, Avenleigh Hendrix, Dresden Hendrix and Pasco Mayfield.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 3, 2022 in the chapel of Floyd Funeral Home with Pastor Robbie Jones officiating.
A visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral service at the funeral home.
The family requests that memorials be made to Emmanuel College, 181 Spring St., Franklin Springs, GA 30639.
CDC guidelines for the COVID-19 virus and social distancing will be observed during the service.
