Kenneth Lassiter

ROCKINGHAM — William Kenneth Lassiter, 78, of Rockingham, went to be with his Lord on July 19, 2020.

Kenneth was born Dec. 15, 1941 to Ora Thurman Lassiter and Louise Baldwin Lassiter in Cordova.

Kenneth was a devout man of God. He took great pleasure in spreading the love and word of God. Kenneth ministered to many of the residents living in long-term care facilities in Hamlet and Rockingham. Not only did he minister with the word, he played guitar and worshiped through music.

He also was the chaplain at the local hospital, spreading the word of comfort and healing. He ministered at many churches over the years, he went where the Lord would guide and lead him. Kenneth lived a God-centered life every day and was rewarded with his mansion on high.

Left to remember him are his daughter, Nancy Swicegood (Kenneth Martin) of Pensacola, Florida, granddaughters, Bailey Swicegood (Steven Edmonson) and Brianna Sheffield, both of Pensacola, Florida; grandsons, Hunter Swicegood and Devin Swicegood, Pensacola, Florida; sister, Martha Lassiter of Bennettsville, South Carolina; two nieces, Christie Robinson (Greg) of Holly Springs and Kara Ulloa (Christian) of Waxhaw.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ora and Louise Lassiter; his wife, Marilyn Lassiter; and one daughter, Mary Louise Hart.

A private graveside service will be held to honor Kenneth.
