Lauder ‘Billy’ Pate Quick

Lauder “Billy” Pate Quick was born on Dec. 16, 1938 in Marlboro County, South Carolina, the last living child of the late Ebbie and Susie Ann Guinn Quick.

He worked many years with the Buttercup Ice Cream Company then retiring from International Trading Pads. He enjoyed attending and serving at Peele’s Chapel Wesleyan Church. He loved going to classic car shows, watching old western television shows and movies, and sharing meals with family.

Billy will be remembered for his friendly, outgoing personality who loved talking to everyone he met. He passed away at the age of 83 on May 18, 2022.

Billy leaves behind his wife of 11 years, Susie Ann Carter Quick of the home; son, Bruce Quick (Faye) of Hamlet; stepchildren, Paul Robinson (Jackie), Jerry Robinson, Terry “Sue” Malloy (Wayne), Wesley Huneycutt (Miki), Derrick Huneycutt, and Annette Childers; his adoring step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren, especially Kimberley Whitlock and Tiffiany Childers. He is also survived by his nieces, nephews and a host of family and friends.

The memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, May 27, 2022 at the Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel officiated by the Rev. Adam Smith.   

Family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.

A private interment will be at a later date in Quicktown Cemetery.
