HAMLET — Levaughn Wilson, 89, of Hamlet, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family, Friday, July 17, 2020, at his residence.

He was born in Richmond County, March 27, 1931, son of George Thomas Wilson and Nayrilla Dunn Wilson.

Levaughn was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hamlet and held various positions over the years, including Sunday school teacher, deacon and usher, just to name a few; he had a strong love for his faith. He was a veteran of U.S. Army and was self employed in sales. Levaughn was well known throughout Richmond County and never met a stranger. 

A Graveside Service will be held at 11 a.m., on Monday, July 20, 2020, at Richmond Memorial Park, Rockingham. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, those attending are required to wear a face covering, asked to maintain social distancing and number attending will be limited.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers and sisters; and a daughter, Christina Wilson.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Vera Orr Wilson; daughters, Sharon Hammann (Don) of Rockingham and Angie Feldman (Londen) of Hamlet; son, Johann Kalbfleisch of Germany; sister, Della Sue Denson of Rockingham; grandchildren, David and Joshua Feldman, Leslie Patterson (Bill), Jenny Taylor (Cam), Andreas, Norman, David and Cicilia Kalbfleisch; great-grandchildren, Riley and Sawyer Taylor and Sophia and Levon Kalbfleisch.
