HAMLET — Lillian Chavis Guinn, 89, of Hamlet, passed away at home of her son, Monday, Aug. 19, 2019.
She was born Sept. 27, 1929 in Hamlet, daughter of Willie Chavis and Ollie English Chavis.
She was a lady that loved everybody and always had a smile. She loved her flowers and talking of all the years as a child and young adult spent working in cotton fields.
Visitation will be Thursday, Aug. 22, 2019 at Harrington Funeral Home from 6-8 p.m.
The funeral will be Friday, Aug. 23, 2019 at 2 p.m. in the Chapel at Harrington Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Pinecrest Cemetery, Gibson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James Edward Guinn; and brothers and sisters.
Survivors include her daughter, Kathy “Dagwood” Fields of Hamlet; son, James “Tinky” Guinn of Mount Gilead; brother, Carson Chavis of Wake Forest; sister, Glennie Chavis; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.
