Linda Ford Gerald Dyke

ROCKINGHAM — Linda Ford Gerald Dyke, of Rockingham, went to be with the Lord on Aug. 18, 2021 surrounded by family.

Born on June 18, 1941 in Rockingham to Clyde and Viola Ford, she attended Rockingham High School and graduated in 1959. She was married in September 1959 to Daniel Gerald Sr. for 50 wonderful years; and to Gene Dyke on Nov. 16, 2013 for 9 months. 

She spent her career and retired from SaraLee Hosiery in Rockingham as a quality control inspector, as well as taught cake decorating classes at Richmond Community College. Her favorite hobbies included crafting, playing solitaire, spending time with family, and her fur baby Shortcake. 

Her faith and dedication to the Lord was evident through the love and prayer she shared for her family and friends. She was a devout Christian and spent many years as a faithful member to the church. 

She is preceded in death by husband(s) Daniel Gerald Sr., Gene Dyke; parents Clyde and Viola Ford; sister Carol Ford Goodwin; son Daniel Gerald Jr. 

She is survived by brother Bud (Phyllis) Ford, sister Judy Ford Powell; children Lisa (Kevin) Loftus of Rockingham, Christy (Danny) McRae of Myrtle Beach, and Brian Gerald of Rockingham; grandchildren Kristen and Chuck Heaton, Kaitlyn and Dakota Morrison, Shane and Tega Cook, Brianna Gerald and Kyle Moore, Meredith and Drew Sinclair, Keith Gerald and Braxton Faircloth, Melody and Jason Bruce, Stephanie and Lewis Allen, Tray Willett, Corey and Paige Willett, and Maranda Currie; 17 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews, extended family and friends whom she loved dearly.

Services for the Gerald family will be held Sunday, Aug. 22, 2021 at Mount Carmel Free Will Baptist Church, 573 Battley Dairy Road, Hamlet. Viewing and visitation will be held from noon-1 p.m. with funeral services beginning at 1 p.m. Burial will follow at Mountt Calvary Rock of Ages Church, 464 County Home Road in Rockingham. 

Due to the current rise in COVID-19 cases, please wear a mask and social distance accordingly. 

The family will receive family and friends at the home of Lisa (Kevin) Loftus, 286 Scott McDonald Road Rockingham, where she has been residing for the last year.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mount Carmel Free Will Baptist Church, 573 Battley Dairy Road, Hamlet, NC 28345.
