Mrs. Martha Lenora Peele Byrd, 85, of 206 Beeler Ave, Hamlet, passed away, Friday, November 10, 2017 at Hospice Haven surrounded by her family.
She was born July 12, 1932 in Richmond County, daughter of J.A. and Jane Honeycutt Peele.
Mrs. Byrd was a member of the Second Baptist Church of Hamlet, and she was a loving mother and grandmother.
Visitation will be Sunday, November 12, 2017 at Second Baptist Church from 6:00 – 8:00 PM, family will meet at her home address at other times.
The Funeral will be Monday, November 13, 2017 at 11:00 AM, at Second Baptist Church with Rev. Chris Hawks officiating. Burial will follow at Richmond Memorial Park.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clarence Thomas Byrd Sr.; sisters, Etta Rhunell Hodges, Mildred Belton, and Dorothy Earp; brother, John Lloyd Peele.
Survivors include her daughters, Doris Sherrill (Mike), Cherry Byrd, and Darla Locklear; sons, Steven Byrd (Janice), Clarence Thomas Byrd, Jr. “Tommy”, and Roger Byrd (Margie); seven grandchildren; and fifteen great grandchildren.
