Mary Ann Harding

ROCKINGHAM — Mary Ann Hoffman Harding, 69, of Rockingham, passed away Thursday, Aug. 13, 2020, at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital following a hard fought battle with cancer.

She was born April 17, 1951, the daughter of the late James Curtis Hoffman and Mary Lois Smith Hoffman. She was the wife of James Dean Harding, who survives, and they had been married almost 41 years.

Mrs. Harding had a career as a dedicated homemaker taking care of her family. She enjoyed housekeeping, gardening and anything to do with serving her beloved family.

Her memory will be cherished by her husband and three children, Edward Durden (Loretta), Wendy Covington and Tammy Hughes (Pete), all of Rockingham; her precious grandchildren, Brittany Durden (William), Dillon Covington (Julie), Megan Covington, Morgan Covington, Sierra Hughes and Adam Hughes; three great-grandchildren: Matthew Calloway Jr., Benjamin Hughes and Calliope Goins; and two brothers, Donnie Hoffman and Michael Hoffman (Robin).

Her parents and two brothers, Charles and Randy Hoffman, preceded her in death.

A graveside service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 18, at Green Lake UMC Cemetery officiated by the Rev. Bob Carpenter.
