HAMLET — Mary Jane Williams Johnson, 78, of Hamlet, went to be with her Lord, Friday, Sept. 3, 2021 at her residence.
She was born March 11, 1943 in Richmond County, daughter of Carson Gurley Williams and Evie Long Williams.
A member of Maple Street Free Will Baptist Church, Mary was a devoted Christian. She loved her church and her ladies Sunday worship class. She loved all animals and was a loving mother and grandmother. She will be missed!
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 60 years, Larry Lee Johnson; and siblings, Martha Smith, Shelton Williams, Faye Helton, Elle Tanner, Helen Grant, Linda Taylor Leona Kellis and Ruth Thomas.
She is survived by her children, Bruce Johnson (Donna) and Eric Johnson (Cherrie) all of Hamlet; grandchildren, Ashley Mabe (Josh) of Hamlet, Erica Strickland (PJ) of Rockingham, Tara Dawkins (Jarrod) of Hamlet and Dillon Johnson of Hamlet; great-grandchildren, Brayden Bailey, Kaylee Singletary, Joshua and Jaycee Mabe, Jentry and Ledger Dawkins, Kaydence Johnson, and Lawson Strickland; and her sister, Isabelle Reynolds.
A visitation will be held, Sunday, Sept. 5, 2021 from 2-3 p.m. at Maple Street Free Will Baptist Church.
A memorial service will follow at 3 p.m. in the church. Burial will follow at a later date.
