ROCKINGHAM — Megan Elizabeth Chavis, 26 of Rockingham passed away Friday, Dec. 10, 2021.
Megan was born on Feb. 2, 1995 in Chesterfield County, South Carolina, a daughter of Elizabeth Moore and Walter Ervin Chavis Jr.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 14, 2021 at Southridge Baptist Church, with Ronnie Wayne Chavis officiating.
Surviving are her mother, Elizabeth Owens and stepfather Lonnie Owens; father, Walter E. Chavis Jr.; siblings, Chandra Dunn (Matthew), Tyler Blackwell (Hayley), Wyatt Parker, Hewston Owens, Robert Chavis, Jasmine Chavis, Ellie Garza; nieces, Jaydan Winfield, Kiley Winfield; other family, Christy Johnson, Lynn Chavis, Ronnie Chavis (Dawn), Gina Chavis and Robbie Shankel.
She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Charlene Lewis and grandfather, Robert Moore.
The family requests that those attending wear facial coverings and practice social distancing.
