Mitchell Wayne Moss

ROCKINGHAM — Mitchell Wayne Moss entered his Heavenly home on Monday, Sept. 20.

Wayne was born on Jan. 27, 1944 to T.K. and Pauline (Pence) Moss.

Wayne graduated from Rockingham High School (Class of 1962) and was owner and operator of Sandhills Automotive and Jack Block and Brick.

Wayne was survived by his wife of 58 years, Rudy Bryan Moss; as well as his son, Patrick (Sonya) Moss; his daughter, Jamie Paige Moss-Godfrey; his half-sister Sarah (Benny) Leviner; brothers, Charles and Tommy Moss; and brother-in-law Randy (DeDe) Davis and sister-in-law Gina McNair.

Wayne’s grandchildren Troy Moss, Trevor Moss, Brooke Derelle and Cooper Godfrey and his well-loved great-grandchildren Liliana Moss, Aiden, Alex and Natalie Derelle, and along with his loyal companion Chubaka (Chewy) Moss, are left to mourn his loss.

A graveside funeral service to honor Mr. Moss will be held Wednesday, Sept. 22 at 11 a.m. at Eastside Cemetery with the Rev. Alex Perakis and Richmond Co. Hospice Chaplain Chris Thornton officiating.
