Nathaniel Hal Campbell Jr.

MARSTON — Nathaniel Hal Campbell Jr., 62, of Marston, passed from this earth into his heavenly home on Sunday, April 25, 2021.

Hal was born in Hamlet, May 23, 1958 to the late Nathaniel Hal Campbell Sr. and Ruth Wilson Campbell.

Fishing was his favorite hobby, he also enjoyed playing pool, gardening, cheering on the Panthers and Tarheels; and he loved animals. Hal had a witty unique sense of humor, blunt at times, but those who truly knew him, knew what a big heart he had. If he was your friend, you had a friend for life. Hal loved his family, he took pride in being the older brother to Linda and Mike, uncle to Allison and Nicole, stepdad to Betsy and Cody, and Papa Hal to Ona, and Pop Pop to Anna. 

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 1, 2021, at 2 p.m. at Mary Love Cemetery, Hamlet. Pastor Robby Stewart will be officiating.

The family will greet guest following the service.

In accordance with COVID guidelines, we ask that you wear a mask and practice social distancing.

He is survived by sister Linda Campbell Compton of Rockingham; brother Mike Campbell and his wife Nancy of Little River, South Carolina; nieces, Allison Campbell of Wilmington and Nicole Compton of Rockingham; stepdaughter, Betsy Fleury (Bill) of Rockingham; stepson, Cody Pace (Courtney) of Rockingham; two step-granddaughters, Ona Knorr and Anna Pace; aunts, Yvonne Graham of Hamlet and Jo Pollard (Jimmy) of Durham; and many special friends.
