PINEHURST — Nora Janet “Saints” Smith, 88, a resident of Brookdale Pinehurst, formerly of Rockingham, passed away Friday, July 31, 2021 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst.
Mrs. Smith was born Feb. 13, 1933 in Wayne County, a daughter of Raymond L. and Nannie Mae Anderson Smith.
She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church in Rockingham where she had been a greeter. She was a graduate of Carolina College of Commerce and had retired after 25 years of service with the North Carolina Cooperative Extension Service. She also worked as cashier of Smith’s Auction Service and was a greeter at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham for many years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved and devoted husband of 66 years, Robert Malcolm Smith; and brothers, Dalton Smith, and Douglas Smith.
Surviving are her children, Dianne Smith Iseman (Jim) and Mickey Smith (Susanna); grandchildren, Rhett Iseman Trull (Jeff), Jim Iseman III, and Kathryn James (Michael); great-grandchildren, Audrey Trull and Cordelia Trull; brothers, Daniel Smith, Alton Smith, and Jarvis Smith; sisters, Dora Snow and Sandra Roberts; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 4, 2021, at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Jack Lee officiating. Interment will follow in Eastside Cemetery.
The family will see friends from 12:45–1:45 p.m. Wednesday at the church.
