OBITUARY: Anthony James Sidoti

Anthony “Tony” James Sidoti, 68, of Rockingham, passed away Monday, Feb. 5, 2024 at the VA Medical Center, Durham.

He was born Feb. 9, 1955, in Milford, Connecticut, son of the late John Felix Sidoti and Norma Rice Sidoti.

Tony served our country in the United States Navy. After his military years, he worked as an HVAC specialist, retiring after more than a 28-year career. He loved camping, hunting, fishing, guns, traveling and all things outdoors. Tony was a devoted family man and patriarch of his family. He was loved by many. He was active and generous in our community, and specifically had a passion for helping special needs children.

Along with his parents, Tony was preceded in death by grandchildren Austin Williams, Heaven Culley, Kyra Cade, and Julius Moore.

Tony is survived by his loving wife, Sharon Barnhill Sidoti, of the home; children, Melanie Sidoti (Donny Sosebee) of Braselton, Georgia, Melinda Dagastino (Steven) of Boone, Monica Ainsworth (Mickey) of Rockingham, Jewell Gilchrist (Brandon) of Rockingham, Jodeane Ziriax (Philip Brewington) of Danville, Virginia, Nolanda Culley of Rockingham, Jada Moore of Rockingham, Clayton Ziriax (Lagina Crowder) of Danville, Virginia, Lester Culley (Dorothy) of Myrtle Beach, and Princeton Sidoti of Rockingham; brothers, John W. Sidoti (Sharlet) of Interlachen, Florida, Joel M. Sidoti of Thornton, Colorado, and David M. Sidoti (Cindy) of Lakeland, Florida; sisters, Kathleen A. Jamison (Chip) and Christina R. Sidoti, both of Interlachen, Florida; 31 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; and his beloved dog, Baby Girl.

Visitation will be Friday, Feb. 9, 2024 from 1-2 p.m. at Harrington Funeral Home, Hamlet.

The funeral service will follow the visitation, beginning at 2 p.m., in the chapel of Harrington Funeral Home, with the Rev. Teddy Rabon officiating. Interment will follow at Richmond County Memorial Park with military honors.
