ROCKINGHAM — Barbara Huggins Dickinson, 76, of Rockingham, surrounded by her loving family, completed her earthly journey on Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2023.
Mrs. Dickinson was born Nov. 13, 1946 in Richmond County, the youngest of three children born to Lott LeGrand and Sally Mae Lampley Huggins. She was a graduate of Rohanen High School and worked for many years with Pargas Company as a bookkeeper. She was a lifelong faithful and dedicated member of East Rockingham Free Will Baptist Church, where she served in many capacities including treasurer and secretary. She loved spending time with her family and shopping.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Donald L. Huggins; and sister, Patricia H. Brizendine.
Surviving are her husband, Marvin Ronald Dickinson; children, Angie Waters (Armon) and Michael Dickinson (Julie); granddaughter, Krysten Hicks; great-granddaughter, Kylee Jo Butler; special niece, Christine Benton; and several other nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 7, 2023 at East Rockingham Free Will Baptist Church with the Rev. Johnny Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in Richmond County Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 12:45–1:45 p.m. Saturday at the church and at other times at the home.
