OBITUARY: Betty Jean Harding Nicholson

ROCKINGHAM — Betty Jean Harding Nicholson, 62, of Rockingham, passed away Monday, Sept. 12, 2022 at Richmond County Hospice Haven.

She was born Aug. 31, 1960 in Richmond County, daughter of the late Norman Leslie Harding and Aimee Clarissa Tabor Harding.

Betty worked in daycare, with Little Kingdom, for almost 30 years. She loved all the children that she nurtured and raised in the daycare setting. She was always very welcoming and never met a stranger. Putting others first was one of her finest qualities. She cherished her family and friends, especially with long-lasting phone conversations where she could talk for hours. Despite her pain, she still enjoyed making everyone laugh.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Norman and Aimee Clarissa Harding; sisters, Nancy Harding and Patsy Harding; and brother, Norman “Bud” Harding.

Betty is survived by her children, Casey Malloy of the home, and April Albritton of Rockingham; granddaughters, Diamond and Takierra; and brothers, Jimmie Dean Harding of Rockingham and Tommy Harding of South Carolina.

Visitation will be Friday, Sept. 16, 2022 from 6-8 p.m. at Harrington Funeral Home.

The funeral service will be Saturday, Sept. 17, 2022 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Harrington Funeral Home, with the Rev. Ray Morton officiating. Burial will follow at Stewartsville Cemetery, Laurinburg.
