OBITUARY: Billy Alexander Deese

Billy Alexander Deese, 27, of Rockingham, Billy went to his heavenly home Thursday, Oct. 26, 2023.

Billy was born in Moore County Nov. 29, 1995. He was the son of Billy Everett Deese Jr. and Amy English Payne.

Billy is preceded in death by great-grandparents Billy and Mary Deese, Andrew and Hazel Honeycutt, Mildred and Alex Lear, and Margie and the Rev. Lester English. Billy is also preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Larry English; and paternal grandfather, Billy Deese Sr.

After graduating from Richmond Senior High School, Billy would go on to work many years at Hwy 55 as a line cook. More recently, Billy worked at Perdue.

Outside of work, Billy enjoyed playing guitar. His passion for music led him to write and compose original songs. Billy was an avid fan of the Carolina Panthers and loved watching football every week during football season. Billy also loved to play video games in his spare time.

Billy is survived by his parents, Billy Deese (Tiffany) and Amy Payne (Chuck); stepsisters, Brandy Payne and Amber Payne; uncles Steven English, Aaron Payne and Brandon Deese; grandparents, Nancy Tincher and Janice Hodges (John). Billy is also survived by his girlfriend, Kassie Barnhill, and her children, Luna and Blair.

The family will receive friends for visitation at Watson-King Funeral Home in Rockingham from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 2, 2023. Services will follow with the Rev. Doug Anderson officiating.

In addition to flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made out in Billy’s honor to the National Institute on Drug Abuse at 16071 Industrial Drive-Dock 1, Gaithersburg, MD 20892.
