OBITUARY: Bobby Richard Napier

WADESBORO — On Sunday, Sept. 18, 2022, Mr. Bobby “Bob” Richard Napier, 72, passed away peacefully at Atrium Health Anson in Wadesboro.

Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2022 in the Chapel of Leavitt Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Bethel Cemetery.

The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service on Wednesday and other times at the home.

Bob was born July 2, 1952, in Richmond County, and was a son of the late Ralph Meggs Napier and the late Myrtle Lee Moore Napier. He was a graduate of Hamlet High School and was a veteran of the United States Air Force.

He was with the North Carolina Department of Corrections for more than 25 years. He was first employed as a correctional officer with Anson Correctional and later was the assistant plant manager for Brown Creek Correctional Enterprise, where they manufactured lockers for the department of corrections.

Bob was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 21 years, Clara Airington Napier; his children, Crystal Napier of Wadesboro and Tony Napier (Jodi) of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; his grandchildren, Toni Napier of Bennettsville, South Carolina, Hayley Napier of Stevens Ranch, California, Brice Carpenter and Aidan Carpenter, both of Wadesboro, and Kaitlyn Capps of Wadesboro; and his great-grandchildren, Aleia and Kyrie Coffey, Madison Dibbs, Jackson Tolbert and Paxton Capps.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Pamela Joy Napier; and his sister, Nancy Snead.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bethel Cemetery Fund, c/o Harold Carpenter, 1381 Cox Rd., Wadesboro, NC 28170.
