Bobby Stanley McCaskill Sr., 91, previously of Rockingham, passed away on Monday, April 3, 2023.
Bobby was born in Rockingham on June 13, 1931, to the late Daniel Stanley McCaskill and Ruth McIntosh McCaskill.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two wives, Mattie Ann Williams McCaskill and Ann Smith McCaskill; a son, Marvin Ray McCaskill; a daughter, Elizabeth Ann McCaskill; a granddaughter, Heather Leighann McCaskill; a sister, Helen (Howard) Benoy; a brother, Charles (Joan) McCaskill; and a brother-in-law- Gene Lynch.
He is survived by a son, Bobby Stanley (Dorothy Jane) McCaskill Jr.; sister, Ellen Lynch; four grandchildren, Russell (Rebecca) Mouzon, Brandy (Moe) Sledge, Amanda (Corey) Dorsey and Renee McCaskill. He is also blessed to be survived by 13 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Bobby grew up and lived his life in the Rockingham/Hamlet area. He attended Cameronian Presbyterian Church his entire life, being the oldest continuous member. He served in the Army during the Korean War. He worked numerous jobs including Carolina Standard, Rockingham Stainless Steel, Highway One Contractors, Richmond Memorial Hospital, and Richmond County Landfill among others.
Bobby was loved and will be missed by all who were blessed to have known him.
The family will receive family and friend at the Cameronian Presbyterian Church on Saturday, April 8 from 2–3 p.m.
Funeral service will be held at Cameronian Presbyterian Church on Saturday, April 8 at 3 p.m. Burial will follow at Old Northam Cemetery.
