Carl Wesley “Buck” Hodges, 82, of Rockingham passed away on Saturday, April 27, 2024 at Hospice Haven of Richmond County.
Buck was born on Nov. 9, 1941, in Richmond County, a son of Henry Hodges and Shadie Knight Hodges.
He served in the United States Air Force and later worked with the railroad as a switchman.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Ernest June Hodges and Richard Hodges; and sisters, Bea Paul, Jean Laughridge and Marie Quick.
Surviving are his wife, Barbara Dawkins Hodges; stepchildren Clay McIntyre, Prestie Henry Smith and Runa Chavis; brother, Harold Hodges of Texas, and sister, Gloria Hodges Reaves of Rockingham.
Visitation will be Wednesday May 1, 2024, at Carter Funeral Home, Rockingham from noon-1 pm. Funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. at Carter Funeral Home Colonial Chapel.
Memorials in lieu of flowers may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, Memphis, Tennessee.
