Caroline S. Voorhees, 79, of Hamlet, passed away Thursday, Dec. 28, 2023 at her home.
She was born Oct. 24, 1944 in Richmond County, a daughter of the late Leo “Dink” and Josephine Wilkes Smith.
Mrs. Voorhees work at H&R Block for many years and her world revolved around her grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held Sunday, Dec. 31, 2023 at 3:30 p.m. at Richmond Co. Memorial Park with the Rev. Fidel C. Melo officiating.
Surviving are her children, JoAnn Caulder (Eddie), Robert J. Voorhees (Danny Weatherford) and Ryan Hearne, all of Hamlet; grandchildren, Nicki Caulder, Randi Jo Caulder, Erin Voorhees and Christopher Voorhees; great-grandchildren, Braylon Smith, Kenleigh Smith, Cali Infinger, Elsie Friske and Addison Smith; sisters, Ruby Sorrentino of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, Barbara Garon of New Jersey, Brenda Arabia of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, Wanda Cox of Conway, South Carolina, Linda Robinson of Bennettsville, South Carolina and Glenda Robinson of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; brothers, Billy Smith of Conway, South Carolina, Mike Smith of Leland and Danny Smith of Hamlet.
