HAMLET — Charles Ray Webb Jr., 64, of Hamlet, passed away Monday, Feb. 20, 2023 at FirstHealth Richmond Memorial Hospital.
He was born May 17, 1958 in Richmond County, a son of the late Charles Ray Webb Sr. and Katie Tarlton Webb.
Ray worked for Tartan Boat Company, L&L Cleaners and American Cleaners. He was a member of Faith Free Will Baptist Church for 41 years and serving in many capacities. He loved to hunt, fish and enjoyed cooking out with family and friends. He adored his granddaughters and love spending time with them.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, Feb. 23, 2023 at 5 p.m. at Faith Free Will Baptist Church with the Rev. Jonathan Osborn and the Rev. David Lee officiating.
Surviving, his wife of 45 years, Martha Williams Webb of the home; a son, Trey Webb and wife Laura of Hamlet; granddaughters, Alexis Burdick and Rebekah Webb of Hamlet; brothers, John Webb of Hamlet and Bruce Webb and wife Joanie of Rockingham; extended family David and Louise Millen of Lake Tillery, Paul and Linda Williams of Hamlet and Jolene Williams of Hamlet; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2023 at Faith Free Will Baptist Church and at other times his home, 155 Country Road, Hamlet.
