Christopher Taylor, 63, of Hamlet, passed away Monday, Aug. 5, 2024, at his residence.
He was born Dec. 25, 1960, in Hamlet, son of Marvin Taylor Sr. and Lois Shankle Taylor.
Chris previously was employed at CSX Railroad as an engineer. Chris loved life and all the things that made up his life; family, fishing, his “Chevy,” music and talking with people. Whatever he was doing he was always inspiring and optimistic! He will be missed by many!
Visitation will be held Thursday, Aug. 8, 2024 at 2 p.m., Outreach for Jesus.
The Celebration of Life will begin at 3 p.m. with Bishop Marvin Taylor officiating.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Frankie Taylor.
Survivors include his children, Amara T. Williams (Brandon) of Hamlet and Christopher Brooks Taylor (Jenny) of Raeford; four grandchildren, Zoey Williams and Colton Williams of Hamlet and McKinley Taylor and Remy Taylor of Raeford; brother, Marvin Taylor Jr. (Wanda) of Hamlet; sisters, Lois Ann Heaton of Hamlet, Dianne Brigman (Ronald) of Rockingham, Peggy Smith (Henry) of Hamlet, and Mary Jacobs of Rockingham; and a host of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at home of his daughter, Amara Williams, 172 Freeman Mill Road, Hamlet.
