ORANGE BEACH, Ala. — Clifton Dwight Hinson, 68, passed away Wednesday, March 8, 2023 in Orange Beach, Alabama.
A native of Rockingham, North Carolina, Dwight was son of the late Clifton Dupree and Mildred Iola King Hinson.
He graduated from Rockingham High School, Class of 1973, attended Appalachian State and graduated from North Carolina State University. Dwight’s love of life was inspiring, you were made to feel welcome with his hugs and smile and he was always ready for and to be the life of a party. He was happiest sitting on a dock, a boat or anywhere near the water. Moving to Bocas del Toro, Panama, in 2022 was an amazing adventure, he especially enjoyed living in an over-the-water bungalow watching sea life, boaters and partiers alike.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Marcie Moscatelli; his daughters, Elizabeth McKee (Eli) and grandchildren Sloan and Briggs, all of Foley, Alabama, and Mary Drew Johnson (Billy), granddaughter, Eloise, all of Foley, Alabama; his sister, Joan Hinson Comer (Marcus), Ponte Vedra, Florida; nephew, Marc Comer; great-niece, Natalie and great nephew Max, Wilmington, Deleware; niece, Kellam Comer Black (Geoff), great-nephews Ben and Nate and great-niece Maggie, Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida
