Daniel (Dan) P. White, 65, was the son of Edgar Lee and Patsy M. White. Born Dec. 8, 1957, Dan passed peacefully April 28, 2023 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital after an extended illness. He was surrounded by family and friends.
Dan was preceded in death by his father, Edgar Lee White Sr.; and his brother, Edgar Lee White Jr.
Dan was fortunate to have many family and friends who loved and admired him for his talent. Dan was known for his artwork. He started early in life with creative paintings. He attended the Ringling School of Art in Sarasota, Florida. He also became a cartographer as chief cartographer for Champion Maps and eventually for Rand-McNally.
Dan was a gentle soul who loved animals and people. He had wit with a dry sense of humor, which made for playful cartoons, futuristic paintings and detailed portraits. He saw beauty in all things, and will be forever missed by his friends and family.
He is survived by his loving mother Patsy M. White; sister-in-law, Chim White; sister, Suzanne White Gustafson and husband Ronald E. Gustafson; and his nephew, Edgar.
A graveside service is planned for Friday, Sept. 20, 2024 at 2:30 p.m. with the Rev. Rufus McLean officiating at East Side Cemetery in Rockingham, where he will be laid to rest with his mother (Patsy).
