ROCKINGHAM — Dorothy Jean Coppley, 98, of Rockingham passed away Sunday, July 17, 2022, at Richmond Co. Hospice Haven.
She was born Nov. 7, 1923, in Rowan County, North Carolina, a daughter of the late Clarence and Zana Cooper.
Mrs. Coppley was a member of Roberdel Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school for many years. She worked several years at Family Dollar as a salesperson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John William Coppley; and brothers Winfield, Tommy and Johnny Cooper.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, July 23, 2022, at 3 p.m. at Watson-King Funeral Home Chapel in Rockingham with the Rev. Billy Dennis officiating. Burial will follow at Richmond Co. Memorial Park.
Surviving, a daughter, Patricia Turner; grandchildren, Terri, Mack and Tony McCroskey; five great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Grant Cooper; a sister, Lucy Russell; and many nieces and nephews.
The family will received friends from 2-3 p.m. prior the service at the funeral home.
