OBITUARY: Earl Henry Robinson

BENNETTSVILLE, S.C. — Earl “Logen” Henry Robinson, 70, of Bennettsville, South Carolina, passed away Monday, Oct. 31, 2022 at his home.

He was born Feb. 5, 1952, in Marlboro County, South Carolina, son of the late William Kinney Robinson and Pearl Steen Robinson.

Mr. Robinson was co-owner/operator of Kountry Mart/Robinson’s Store on Highway 38 at the North and South Carolina state line, for more than 40 years. He was a self-made man and successful entrepreneur. Sitting under the tree and watching his cows was his favorite pastime. He loved his family, especially his children and grandchildren. He was also a member of Nebo Wesleyan Church in Hamlet.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Kinney and Pearl Steen Robinson; son, Joseph Earl Robinson; brothers, S.J. Robinson and William “Billy” Robinson; and sisters, Eula Mae Grant and Lois Marlowe.

Mr. Robinson is survived by his wife of 45 years, Linda Smith Robinson of the home; daughter, Megan Robinson of Bennettsville; grandchildren, Braxton Robinson (Beth), Avree Robinson, Nate Long, all of Bennettsville, and Kahleadra Clark of Little River; great-grandson, Landry Joseph Robinson; brothers, Curtis Dean Robinson (who was joined at the hip) of Bennettsville and Cecil “Popcorn” Robinson of Hamlet; sisters, Gladys Quick of Wallace, South Carolina, Grace Stubbs of Bennettsville, Bea Maynor-Powell (Marv) of Ellerbe, Vera Carter (Ted) of Ellerbe, and Nancy Robinson of Rockingham; special niece and nephew, Deana Robinson-Blackburn and Curtis Dean Robinson Jr.; and numerous other nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Thursday, Nov. 3, 2022 from 6-8 p.m. at Harrington Funeral Home, Hamlet.

The funeral service will be Friday, Nov. 4, 2022 at 1 p.m. at Nebo Wesleyan Church, Hamlet, with Pastor Jeff Collins and Pastor June Grant officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
