Edward Paul Thomas, 81, of Rockingham passed away Monday, Feb. 26, 2024 at his home.
He was born May 13, 1942 in Moore County, a son Paul and Edna McIntyre Thomas.
Edward retired from Southern Bell and was a member of Cartledge Creek Baptist Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening in yard.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Beatrice Faye Thomas, and his second wife, Frances DeSha Thomas.
The family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m. on Saturday, March 9, 2024 at Cartledge Creek Baptist Church with an 11 a.m. funeral service with the Rev. Jason Lutz officiating. Burial will follow at Dockery Cemetery.
Surviving, his children, Teresa Diane Thomas of North Carolina and Eddie Thomas and wife Gail of Tennessee; stepdaughter, Diane DeSha Gilday and husband Dan of California; grandchildren, Travis Jameson Parks of North Carolina, Cameron Quade Thomas of Georgia and Caytie Susanne Thomas Tennessee; two sisters, Shelby Thomas Brown of South Carolina and Elaine Thomas of North Carolina; a brother, Bill Thomas of North Carolina; and two fur buddies, Lucy and Trixie.
