It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Elizabeth Cribbs Stewart, our beloved Queen Bee, who left this world peacefully on Nov. 6, 2024.
Elizabeth was born in Dillon County, South Carolina, on Feb. 27, 1936 to the late Robert Lee and Ora Lambert Cribbs. She was 88 years young.
Elizabeth dedicated her life to raising her family and nurturing those around her. She was the proud mother of six children and a granddaughter she raised, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, whom she cherished deeply.
Elizabeth’s home was a sanctuary filled with love, laughter, music, and countless memories. Her unwavering support and boundless kindness left an indelible mark on her children and everyone who knew her. Elizabeth had a unique talent for making everyone feel special, and her infectious laugh and bright smile will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
She is predeceased by her husband, Kenneth Bert Stewart Sr.; son, Kenneth Bert Stewart Jr.; and daughters, Nancy Wynn and Sharon Kilian; four sisters and two brothers; and grandson, Kenneth Bert Stewart III.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are children, Elaine Mabe (Gerald), David Stewart (Pam), Mitchell Stewart (Tammy) and Amanda Motley (Greg), along with numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Lena Pope, Patsy Klutz; brother, Robert Cribbs; and many other relatives and friends who will miss her dearly.
Visitation will be Saturday, Nov. 9, 2024, from 2-3 p.m. at Trinity Emmanuel Holiness Church in Rockingham.
A celebration of Elizabeth’s life will follow visitation, beginning at 3 p.m., with Pastor Perry Deal and Gerald Mabe officiating. Interment will follow at Eastside Cemetery in Rockingham.
At other times, the family will receive friends at the home of her daughter, Elaine and Gerald Mabe, Vine Drive, Hamlet.
