Infant Evelyn Zamora-Hernandez passed away Monday, Aug. 21, 2023.
She was born July 26, 2023, in Moore County. She was a daughter of Nicanora Hernandez-Millan and Horacio Zamora.
Baby Evelyn is survived by her parents, Horacio and Nicanora; siblings, Alonso Hernandez, Anna Zamora, Karen Zamora and Eliana Zamora.
While her time on earth was brief, it was spent with joy and love. Below is a poem the family selected that best describes Evelyn:
Our Little Angel
There is a special Angel in Heaven that is part of me. It is not where I wanted her but where God wanted her to be. She was here but just a moment like a night time shooting star. And though she is in Heaven she isn’t very far. She touched the heart of many like only an Angel can do. So I send this special message to the Heaven up above Please take care of my Angel and send her all my love.

Hay un ángel especial en el cielo que es parte de mí. No es donde yo la quería, sino donde Dios quería que estuviera. Ella estaba aquí, pero solo un momento como una estrella fugaz nocturna. The family will receive friends for visitation Thursday, Aug. 24, 2023, from 10 to 11 a.m. with funeral services following immediately after. Services will be held at Watson-King Funeral Home in Rockingham with Pastor Julio Torres officiating. Interment will follow at Richmond County Memorial Park Cemetery.
In the case of flowers being sent in honor of Evelyn, the family requests that white flowers be selected.
